Welding Rod Litigation
Martin & Kieklak has been a leader in investigating and prosecuting emerging cases involving injuries to workers caused by welding rods. Welding rod fumes contain manganese, a known toxic substance that damages the nervous system and causes symptoms similar to Parkinson’s Disease, including tremors, arm and leg cramps and weakness, fatigue, headaches, memory loss and loss of balance. Manufacturers and suppliers of welding rods failed to warn welders of the risks involved in breathing these fumes and should be held accountable for the pain they have caused.
Martin & Kieklak represents 56 different unions in a six state region, whose members have been injured by welding rod fumes, some of which have been consolidated into the multi-district litigation (MDL 1535) pending in federal court in Cleveland, Ohio.
